Teaching
I want students to leave sociology better able to notice patterns, ask stronger questions, evaluate evidence, and understand how individual experiences connect to larger social structures.
Approach
I want students to use sociology to make sense of the world around them, not just memorize concepts for an exam. I emphasize clear expectations, applied examples, structured discussion, and multiple ways to participate so students can engage seriously with difficult material without being expected to make their personal lives part of the course.
